Use of

Buttresses & Stabilizers

Puts the fear of spraining

your ankle or falling behind you.

Prescribed; Patients that need Aggressive Stability to the Outside of the foot (Lateral) or to the Inside of the foot (Medial). Visible sign, footwear collapsing to one side because of foot rolling over. Possible cause tendonitis or charcot.

Charcot neuropathy is a progressive deterioration of weight bearing joints, usually in the foot or ankle.

Function; Stabilize patient feet.

Goal; Stop severe lateral and medial joint deterioration. Halts excessive wear and breaking down of footwear.

Benefit;

1. Diminishes the condition for sever sprains and broken bones.

2. Halt Ligament, Cartilage, Tendon and Bone problems.

3. Stop deterioration or further deterioration of Pronation and Supination.

for controlling severe rolling over of the feet.

Buttresses Fig.1 adds stability for individual that supinates or pronates in this case, (roll there foot over up onto the side of their foot) somewhat aggressively. Buttress can work well by themselves or in unison with foot orthotics.

Stabilizers add superior stability for individual that severely - aggressively supinates or pronates. Stabilizers alleviate (rolling and collapsing of footwear), plus stops rolling of the feet over up on to the side of their foot) . Stabilizers work wonders by themselves. Fig.2, Fig.3 & Fig.4

Notices how high up this Buttress come up on the footwear. This stops completely the collapsing of the shoes. This gave the client a true sense of stability and confidence because their feet no longer rolled over. They no longer walk thinking about spraining, fracturing or breaking any bones.
